WEEK 13 - March 31, 2013
Daffodil captured with Canon 50D, EF 28-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS lens
Boingggg! Just like that, it's spring! Today was Easter Sunday as well, the first time in a long time I can recall Easter coming in March. I looked it up and Easter can fall any Sunday between March 22 and April 25 and is calculated according to moon phases, falling on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the Spring Equinox.
Well, somehow the plants know when Easter is supposed to be here and today was an absolutely gorgeous spring day, temps in the low to mid-70's, blue skies, sunshine...beautiful! Things were popping!
So, it only made sense to get some photos to show spring springing. My forsythia in the backyard just started putting on a colorful yellow show in the backyard this week, the trees are budding out with new leaves, and when out looking for other signs of spring, I found a beautiful stand of daffodils nicely lit by the afternoon sun. I've taken these photos over the past few days so some are shot with my point-and-shoot Sony DSC-HX5v, others with my Canon 50D, and a couple with my Nikon D3000 I use at work. I've labeled them accordinging.
I have to think there will be other spring flower shots coming in weeks ahead as the tulips, the lilacs, the roses, clematis, and a whole garden full of goodies make their appearances. For now, here's a look at early spring in Idaho.
