Week 30 - JuLY 28, 2013
Cameras Everywhere!
There is a saying in photography that the best camera is the one you have with you. In the new digital age, the question is now - "Where are you that you don't have a camera with you?" We have cameras in our cellphones, cameras in our tablets, cameras at the ATM, surveillance cameras everywhere...are you sure there's not a camera watching you right now?!! And now with the apps available on phones and tablets, we have editing and special effects software with us much of the time too.
So this week, I decided to do photos taken with a non-traditional camera. Some of these are cellphone photos, quite a few taken with the camera in my Google Nexus 7 tablet, and some with a traditional camera, but edited with tablet software. All were processed in the tablet with apps like SnapSeed, PicsArt, Paper Camera, and Lithic. In keeping with my Project 52 "rule", I tried to keep it pretty much to images I shot this week. In a couple cases I posted images not shot this week, but re-worked this week with the special software.
These aren't traditional photos - I'm using the software to go for creative looks. I have many more images you can see here, also done in this same fashion, some more traditional and others creative as well. It's fun to always have a camera with you and it's also fun to edit right on the tablet screen with your finger. Who knows where we're headed with photography? May you always live in interesting times!
