Week 17 - April 27, 2013
Sunset Ride
It was a gorgeous spring evening with temps in the high 70's. It begged for a little motorcycle ride in the country and I was only too happy to oblige. I didn't want to take my larger Canon gear, so I popped my little Sony DSC-HX5v in my belt pouch, put on my helmet and gloves, fired up the TW-200 and headed off.
I was out in the farm country in the Kuna area and the pre-sunset light was delightful. I rode up the Kuna Butte and took a self-portrait with the timer on the little camera (the tiny flash wasn't really enough to provide enough fill-light, but that's was a little post-edit dodging is for).
By the time I was passing back through Kuna enroute home, the sun was just setting the the light on the steel rails at the crossing was crossing was magic. I stopped for a few shots. It would have been nice to have the larger Canon and the photos would have been of higher quality with less noise, but hey...the best camera as they say is the one you have with you.
I will have to learn to be out more often during "Magic Hour" with my camera in hand, and if it can be part of a little two-wheeled adventure... moreso the better! Enjoy the mini-slideshow below and click the thumbnails to look at any particular shot.
