It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
The mad dash was on this week as Thanksgiving was on Thursday and this year stores were open for shopping even on Thanksgiving Day. I have mixed feelings about that, having to wonder if we've become such a consumer-driven society as to have no day which is "sacred," no day where we take a break from the pursuit of the almighty dollar and reflect on what is really important. I can't be too self-righteous about it though as there I was...out there with the rest of them for a couple hours Thanksgiving evening. (Slept in though on "Black Friday!)
Of course the Christmas decorations are going up all over and this year, the newly completed Village at Meridian made a splash with some huge (I'd guess they are 25-feet tall at least), illuminated reindeer, quite pretty at night. So I took the camera out for some night shots, also going into the courtyard there where the lights of the fountain and the Christmas tree are spectacular.
The "assigned subject" for the Boise Camera Club this month is "beautiful blur", so I also used the zoom effect with the long exposures. Have a look!
